Have you ever dreamed of standing on the rooftop of Africa?

Black Like Us is inviting a small group of adventurers, explorers, and purpose-driven dreamers to join us as we take on one of the world’s most iconic challenges — climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2026.

This isn’t just a hike. This is a call to defy stereotypes, push your limits, and be part of something that centers us and rewrites the narrative of who belongs in the outdoors.

Why Kilimanjaro?

Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa, rising 19,341 feet above sea level. It’s a physically demanding journey, but it doesn’t require technical climbing experience; just heart, preparation, and a sense of community. And we’ll prepare together.

For us, this journey is about more than reaching the summit. It’s about reclaiming space. It’s about representation. It’s about healing, joy, and elevation, both literal and spiritual.

Who Is This For?

This experience is for people who want to:

  • Push themselves mentally and physically
  • Connect with other like-minded people
  • Document a transformative journey
  • Join a supportive, nonjudgmental group of first-time and seasoned hikers
  • Be part of a historic experience grounded in storytelling, wellness, and culture

You don’t have to be an athlete. You just have to be committed. We’ll train throughout the year together, both virtually and in person when possible, share resources, workouts, hikes, and encouragement.
